Artist Quits Job to Pursue Her Passion of Drawing Sea Waves

Living in the coastal city of Brisbane, Australia, visual artist Bethany Moffat was always fascinated and inspired by the sea. This ultimately influenced Moffat to start making hyper-realistic drawings of sea waves and seascapes.

After drawing seascapes for the past several years and getting overwhelmingly positive feedback, Moffat recently decided to quit her daily job and become a full-time artist. It turned out to be a good decision, as her works started gaining attention from art enthusiasts and collectors all over the world.

Moffat puts much effort into her drawings, which can take weeks to complete, which in return allows her to impressively capture the calming nature of seascapes.

“Growing up by the sea I experienced both fear of deep water yet also admired the beauty of its creation. There is a healing power in salty ocean air. I will forever be fascinated by how the sea can be so terrifying and tumultuous, yet calm at the same time,” Moffat says about her works.
