Artist Showcases Differences Between Asian and American Cultures Through Funny Comics

In her series of comics titled Asian and Redhead, an artist known as Flora showcases the differences between Asian and American cultures in a humorous way.

Flora hails from Hong Kong, while her husband, Dan, is an American. While living and traveling together, the two discovered that they could often have different views and approaches in the most basic situations, which inspired Flora to capture some of the moments from their everyday life in the form of comics.

These differences are exemplified in all things life, ranging from grocery shopping to restaurant etiquette and house chores.

Flora also draws inspiration from observing her Western friends and comparing their experiences to her own.

“I aim to capture these stories and share them with others to evoke feelings of fun, relatability, and travel inspiration. I want to offer an Asian perspective and maybe make someone think, ‘Oh, I’ve felt that way before,” she shared in a recent chat with Bored Panda.

Flora regularly uploads new comics on her Instagram page, which has a devoted following that is getting larger in numbers. If you want to check out more of her works and see the funny side of cultural differences, continue scrolling.
