Calvin Sprague is an American illustrator and designer whose bold-colored illustrations feature geometric shapes and detached body parts. The artist currently lives in Rotterdam where he creates his distinctive art. One of his most prominent works shows a girl in a red shirt hugging her knees while sitting surrounded by surreal plants.
“Experimenting with basic lines and shapes, he finds harmony by bridging the gap between structure and chaos,” Sprague’s artist statement reads. “Influenced by the early works of Saul Bass to Heinz Edelmann to Milton Glaser, he sees their eccentric, colorful style as a big reason why he grew to love design.”
