Colorful Paper Sculptures by Sena Runa

Sena Runa is a Turkish artist based in Lisbon, Portugal, who is creating intricate paper art using the quilling technique. Quilling is the art of twisting, folding, and arranging scrolls of colorful paper to create different objects.

Runa managed to master this art and now she’s creating amazing paper sculptures shaped like violins, pianos, hearts, hot air balloons, and many other objects that inspire her. It’s interesting that up until four years ago, Runa worked as an HR Specialist, but once she discovered this beautiful hobby, the artist quit her day job to pursue her artistic passion.

“While I was searching the internet for inspiration to find the right hobby for me, I found a colorful picture that was made from paper using the quilling technique, but I had no idea what it was called”, the artist remembered how she started this hobby in an interview for *My Modern Met*. “I tried to make it (I had colored papers from my earlier hobby: origami), but it turned out awful! After exploring many quilled creations online, I soon found my own style.”

Runa is now a full-time paper artist and she had more than 130 thousand followers on Instagram.
