Find out How to Make a Gourmet Version of Twix Chocolate Bar

Bon Appétit’s resident pastry chef Claire recently tried to make a gourmet version of Snickers chocolate bar and did an awesome job at it. This encouraged her to try to do the same with Twix, which is another iconic Mars’ chocolate bar.

Twix originated in the United Kingdom in the late ’60s and was introduced in the U.S. in 1979. This candy bar consists out of cookie which is topped with caramel and then coated with chocolate. It may seem like a simple combination, but it is highly effective and adored by candy lovers around the world.

In her attempt to make an already great candy even better, Claire decided to keep the original elements of the Twix (cookie, caramel, and chocolate) and just make them fancier. For cookie, she used shortbread while the caramel was made following the recipe for salted caramel chocolate tart. Finally, she used Temper chocolate for the cover.

Curious how Claire’s gourmet Twix turned out? Want to try and make them yourself? Then watch the video below.
