Desiree Dufresne is a Los Angeles-based self-taught artist who works mostly with acrylic and oil paint however, she sometimes likes to experiment with watercolor, as well. According to her personal website, she is “interested in exploring the many facets of life through the lenses of curiosity, critique, wonder, and spontaneity.”
“Even as a very young child, I never bought into the hypnotic lullaby of religious belief,” the artist shared with Bored Panda. “As a girl/woman and a queer person, I always felt isolated from the supposed spirit of God. Growing up with an Evangelical mother and a Catholic father, however, landed me in church often. To pass the time, I’d doodle on the tithe cards or stare at the beautiful stained glass windows.”
Although Dufresne has two degrees in History and works as a teacher, her artwork included several private collections throughout the US.
