Hsinping Pan’s Illustrations Are a Childhood Dream

Taiwan-based animator and illustrator Hsinping Pan likes making art that makes her happy and brings joy to other people as well. Which makes sense, judging by her cartoonish illustrations that are nothing short of a childhood dream.

Growing up in Taiwan, she moved to LA to study animation. But after 11 years in LA, she decided to move back to Taiwan again. Now she works as a full-time animator and illustrator, with clients that are both from Taiwan and the US.

Her works can be seen in commercials, movies, music videos, magazines, book covers, and children books, with clients that include Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and Disney. “I like to draw colorful things and sometimes make stories for them,” she shared with Vivi Studio. “I found art is the best way to express myself and connect with the world.”

Talking about her creative background she admits she’s loved drawing from a very young age. “I’ve loved drawing ever since I can remember, but I didn’t think about becoming an artist until I went to college for business,” she explained. “I was really frustrated and confused by my classes and found my true passion in creating things. Now I really appreciate that I initially studied business because it helped me make up my mind to become an artist!”
