Mattel to Release Kate McKinnon’s “Weird Barbie” Doll From the “Barbie” Movie

The Barbie movie, based on Mattel’s iconic doll toys of the same name, has taken the world by storm in recent weeks. The Greta Gerwig-directed feature received positive reviews from critics and already surpassed $1 billion in earnings at the box office.

While Barbie (Margot Robbie) and Ken (Ryan Gosling) understandably got the biggest spotlight, one unusual character ended up stealing the hearts of the moviegoers: Weird Barbie played by Kate McKinnon. However, most of them soon discovered that Weird Barbie was specifically written for the movie, so there was no toy they could buy.

Mattel now decided to respond to the fan demand and release a Weird Barbie doll that looks just like McKinnon’s character in the movie. It comes with signature short hair and face paint, a pink dress with colorful artwork and puffy sleeves, and green snakeskin boots. The doll will also have flexible joints, so you will be able to recreate the famous splits from the movie.

The Weird Barbie doll is currently available for pre-order on Mattel’s official website and comes with a price tag of $50. According to the website, the orders will be shipped “on or before” May 31, 2024. That might seem like a long wait, but something tells us that it will be well worth it.
