Artist Stefhany Lozano knows what it’s like to have panic attacks. This experience served her as an inspiration for her latest series of paintings that capture the feelings she gets right before a panic attack strikes.
The series it titled Kurz Davor, which means “the moment before” in German.
“They are in very limited spaces, but the picture is quite colourful and almost cheerful because I wanted to use comical characters and not dramatic ones,” she explains. “The anxiety is not obvious in the pictures because it’s not properly there yet, but you get the feeling of it through the position of their bodies and the expression on their faces.”
