Susana Costa is the mastermind behind the jewelry brand Tiny Sugar, and she couldn’t have chosen a more fitting name. She made a name for herself with her incredibly realistic food-themed jewelry that looks just as delicious as the real thing.
Costa is a jewelry maker based in Lisbon, Portugal, who found her true calling when she started working with polymer clay. She’s always been a huge fan of cakes and miniatures, and she came up with a creative way to mix her two biggest passions into one.
“I fell in love with polymer clay and modeling a few years ago, and nowadays I can reconcile these two passions and have my dream job: making miniature food… I am always looking to create something new, unique, and above all… super cute!” she writes on her Etsy page.
Costa’s polymer clay creations take many different shapes and forms, but food is definitely her biggest source of inspiration. She celebrated her heritage with her signature Portuguese collection, but she’s also no stranger to making jewelry shaped like everything from donuts and cookies to toast and pancakes.
In addition to sharing her creations online, Costa is committed to helping other people make their own polymer clay jewelry. She shared dozens of silicone molds that you can use to make your own charms and miniature foods.
