The post Artist Uses Squeegee to Create Abstract Paintings appeared first on PlayJunkie.
]]>Sharece became popular on social media thanks to her abstract paintings made with a squeegee. Yes, it is the same tool everyone else uses for cleaning windows.
The artist places dollops of color on canvas and then uses a squeegee to smear them all over it. This doesn’t only result in an intriguing piece of art, but the process is also quite satisfying. You are watching an artwork come together in a matter of seconds.
While Sharece mainly focuses on abstract art, she also does paintings of pop culture characters like Spongebob Squarepants and animals in the same way. While these types of artworks are a bit more demanding and require more prep time, they turn out quite great, considering the method.
It is safe to say that internet users love Sharece’s pieces.
“What the I’m calling voodoo magic on that,” one TikTok user commented on her Spongebob video.

“I attempt to create an ethereal place which is hypnotically familiar and yet hauntingly exotic, adding tiny little details in a sort of compulsive meditation until a perfect balance is created,” the artist shares on her website. “The intricacy and high detail, along with hints of existing organic shapes lend to the intimacy and believability of each new world.”

]]>Usually relying just on a pen and paper, Sanagi draws intricate doodles in moments of inspiration. Once he starts working on a piece, even he doesn’t know how it will turn out, letting his imagination wonder and guide his hand.
Still, his works, mostly done in black and white with occasional hints of red and gold, are extremely detailed and intricate. They feature complex abstract patterns, bold lines, dotted sections, and depictions of forms found in nature, with all of them coming together in a single work in a surprisingly captivating way.
“I paint with the soul of that moment and let my hands move, so even I can’t imagine how it will be completed. So every time I draw, I run my pen with a mixture of anticipation and anxiety,” Sanagi shares in the description of his profile featured on Tokyo-based art gallery TRiCERA.

]]>The post Artist Creates Fluid Paintings and Landscapes appeared first on PlayJunkie.
]]>Currently, she is creating fluid paintings and landscapes mixing each individual color using acrylic paint, floetrol, and water.
“In addition, I also mix pouring medium, followed by a few drops of silicone into select colors. A chemical reaction is created by air bubbles while mixing, the addition of silicone oil, and water. Together, they create ‘cell-like’ forms,” the artist shared on Bored Panda and added that to reach the abstract look, she uses a blow torch or heat gun to bring out the cells.
“I also achieve different designs and textures using household objects such as strainers, straws, and frosting spatulas. The emotions during the creating process, are reflected in my work.”
You can see the final result on her social media accounts where she posts images of her creations, her online store, and on her YouTube channel where she shares tutorials, DIY’s, and other tricks and tips.

]]>With most of her work being abstract, her creative process is very much based on intuition. “I want to make paintings that feel very true,” says Mohamedi. “I think I can do that if I don’t control the inception of the idea very much. I’m sort of like a semipermeable membrane; I just look at what’s around me, watch the thoughts that I have, listen to my children, listen to the air. I’m this filter for whatever’s happening around me.”
As for her inspiration, she finds it in the mundanities of everyday life. “I’m inspired by the things my children say, I’m inspired by my husband, my parents, my heritage, visiting other artist’s studios and seeing the way they do things, watching somebody hold a pencil in an unusual way and the way they press it onto a surface,” she explains. “That inspires me because I think, Why not? Why can’t I try that? Everything inspires me. I’m a sponge and a filter.”
Based in Los Angeles, she has exhibited widely in LA and is also a founding member of the Los Angeles art collective, The Binder of Women. Her work has been profiled in publications such as the LA Times and Huffington Post, but you can also follow her online, via Instagram.

]]>Through the composition and decomposition of the shapes (a style that references to constructivism and neo-plasticism), Luka aims to tell a story and evoke a situation or a vision, in an entirely unusual and original way. The viewer is left, therefore, to reconstruct and consequently interpret the image before him, uncovering from within it faces, characters, and landscapes.
“My works are like an everyday diary,” Luka further relayed in an interview with Another Fine Mess. “A chronicle of what I see around me, around my friends. My works are like a puzzle – people try to find different recognizable shapes that are mixed with abstract geometry. It could be anything, a man walking with his dog, or a large family waiting for their lunch. There is always a story to be found in my works. I try to show typical situations from a different angle.”
His abstract art begins with a sketch on paper. It is only when the sketch is done that Luka chooses the technique he prefers for realizing his idea. His pieces take anything from a couple of days to months to complete. Take a look at some of his work in the gallery below:

]]>Howard is a Texan-born artist and designer who’s been creating art for almost three decades. His art ranges from commercial work to his own private projects, and his latest endeavor was to uncover the beauty of cities.
He uses abstract painting techniques to reimagine the urban sprawl with its thousand crossing paths and neon lights. The paintings aren’t based on any city in particular, and shouldn’t be used as maps or guides – but they do help see the city from a new perspective.
Instead of a grey, alienating space full of strangers, Howard sees the city as a colorful, full of light and noises. The streets invite you to get lost in theme and go on adventures. You can get to exactly where you wanted to be, or you could let the city guide you and discover its hidden treasures.
There’s nothing easier than to look outside your window to the traffic of the dirty buildings and wish to be in nature, but Howard’s paintings remind us that with a little bit of imagination, we can find beauty even in the concrete.

]]>Zsako was born in Budapest in 1979 and when he was 9-years-old, his family moved to Canada. His parents were both successful artists and that’s how he got his artistic background. He graduated from the Ryerson University in Toronto and now lives in Brooklyn, New York.
His work is often abstract, but full of emotion and movement. He combines bizarre and incompatible elements to create tension in his paintings, while some images leave an impression of melancholy and you can lose yourself in them. He loves playing with gender and polyamorous behavior, so it often happens that two figures share one organ – an eye for example – and he describes this as “a metaphysical metaphor for personal interactions.”
Many of his paintings could be described as “open-ended complications” and his artistic language is a mix of mythical, spiritual, sexual, and psychological stories.
Here is a series of his work we prepared for you to enjoy!

So when you move around the room and the ridges of paint catch the light, there is always something new to see.”

]]>“Even as a very young child, I never bought into the hypnotic lullaby of religious belief,” the artist shared with Bored Panda. “As a girl/woman and a queer person, I always felt isolated from the supposed spirit of God. Growing up with an Evangelical mother and a Catholic father, however, landed me in church often. To pass the time, I’d doodle on the tithe cards or stare at the beautiful stained glass windows.”
Although Dufresne has two degrees in History and works as a teacher, her artwork included several private collections throughout the US.
