The Best True-Crime Podcasts You Should Be Listening To

True crime and podcasts, we can’t think of a better pair. If you’re into a true-crime podcast you’ve probably already listened to Serial, Making a Murder, and Abducted in Plain Sight.

What podcasts should you turn to next? These are the ones we’re excited about.

Criminal

Criminal is one of the best podcasts out there and it debuted before Serial. The episodes are easy to follow and you’ll be busy for a while because there are over 90 episodes. The show tells the stories of people who’ve been caught up in the midst of crimes or they’ve done wrong. Julia Shapiro, producer at Radiotopia said, “Criminal reframed our sense of the impact of crime on both victims and perpetrators.”

Accused

The podcast tells the story of Elizabeth Andres who was murdered in her Ohio apartment back in 1978. After two trials, it’s still unclear who’s responsible for the crime. The brainchild behind Accused is reporter Amber Hunt, who looks back into the case with in-depth interviewing and storytelling.

Up And Vanished

13 years ago Tara Grinstead suddenly disappeared and her case has remained unsolved. Payne Lindsey, who’s a former documentarian takes on the cold case by reinvestigating it. If you want to know just what happened to Grinstead you’ll have to watch the podcast.
