We see flowers almost all the time — both outdoors and indoors — and while they’re always pretty, it’s hard to pay special attention to something that’s always around. But Manu Torres’ flower arrangement will catch anybody’s attention in a second.
Torres, an Oregon-based florist, has taken the art of flower arrangement to a whole new level. It all started when he was 21 and took on a job at the Portland art center Yale Union. Part of his job was to decorate the center for opening-night galas, and he was looking for interesting, affordable decor options. He started playing around with flower arrangements made of flowers from his neighbor’s garden — and found his calling completely by accident.
Slowly, he fell in love with floral arrangements and started creating them for himself in his spare time. His style was unique from the start — he wanted to create something new and exciting and push the boundaries of the art. He started using new materials to enhance his arrangements — he added feathers and paper fans and even used spray paint in bright colors.
Today, Manu is a celebrated flower sculptor who travels the country to teach others how to create art with flowers. He uses exotic, expensive flowers to create otherworldly art pieces, and shares his creations with hie 30k followers on Instagram. Scroll down to check out his work.
