This Architect and Marine Biologist Creates Vibrant Installations

Max Hooper Schneider is an artist, marine biologist, and landscape architect. This unusual combination provides him with a fresh perspective and helps him create his artistic installations such as Hammer Projects.

Schneider’s work includes rich and vibrant landscapes that feature many natural elements in combination with human-made objects. According to the Hammer Museum, his work attempts to “decenter the human experience and challenge assumptions about how and why we classify objects,” This is Colossal writes. Schneider’s work explores the relationships between humans and nature, between construction and deconstruction, and the political and the personal — all the relationships that make up our daily lives.

His works will be on display at the Hammer Museum in L.A. by February 2nd, 2020, so if you have the chance, make sure to stop by. You can also see his art on Instagram and below.
