This Paper Art Challenge is the Meaning of Eye-Popping

The Paper Artist Collective (PAC) is a group of artists from around the world who share a common interest in creating beautiful art pieces using only paper.

Last year, they launched a collaborative project called #PACColorChallenge, in which PAC challenged 20 artists from around the world to make a piece of paper art using one color only.

Each artist was given 20 A3 sheets of single shade colored plan paper and was tasked to create anything they want, as long as it fitted within a 20 x 20 x 20cm area.

The talented artists didn’t know what color will be assigned to them until they received it by mail.  The members were thrilled about the challenge and the results are simply amazing. Scroll down to see their creations.

This amazing piece is the last piece of our #PACColorChallenge, its made using the color Bright Red from @colorplan_papers by the talented duo⠀ from @papieratelier 😍 But we have decided this happy, colorful and stunning project can't stop here! We will, before the month is over, announce an extraordinary challenge for all our followers and fans here on Instagram, FB and our website.⠀ About their piece Papier Atelier tells us: "The colour was the same as the sculpting interface of the 3D software that we are using. Then we decided to sculpt our faces and combine it into a self-portrait project. Mandarin is the name of this amazing orange, and its from @Colorplan_papers of course 😍💁The piece is by our talented artist @jessicabaldrydesigns, isn't it lovely? "My piece is inspired by life under the sea and the interesting textures and shapes of coral reefs. When I was given mandarin as my colour, I instantly associated it with sea creatures and from that point decided to create a scene celebrating the richness and beauty of Ocean life. The design was sketched out, then each element was cut and assembled by hand from different layers of orange paper. I wanted to make something which draws the eye in, so had the idea of framing my paper scene inside a porthole. The beautiful color on this paper is "Citrine" from @Colorplan_papers. The stunning work made with it is by @emmaboyespapercreations 🧡 About her piece Emma tells us: "Originally I had planned on creating a piece of artwork that was suited to the colour but once I started I quickly realised that I wasn't challenging myself enough so decided to create something that had no relevance to the colour." 💛 Hello Sunshine! 💛 This amazing quilled piece is @senaruna´s contribution to the #PACColorChallenge! The lovely bright and happy yellow is "Factory Yellow" from @Colorplan_papers. Sena Runa tells us about her piece: When I saw the color that I was given, first thing I thought was that I should create something bright like the sun or something relating to sunshine." This stunning Pistachio green from @colorplan_papers is the last of the green shades in our #PACColorChallenge. The awesome piece is made by the talented @juliannaszabo and about it Julianna says: "As my colour is a pastel green, it inspired me to create something based on nature which is why I chose a chameleon standing on a branch. I wanted to give it a twist though, so I included my love of science fiction. More lovely green! 💚 With the color Mid Green from @colorplan_papers @adrianapolitano created this amazing piece. "I’m always inspired by flowers and leaves, I love making them with paper, but of course the colour had a big role in my decision to make something like this." Adriana tells us. When we asked her what the most challenging part of the #PACColorChallenge was she told us that the color it self was the most challenging. #It’s not “my kind” of colour, and at the beginning it was difficult for me to think about something to do with it. But then, the reptile kicked in, and now I love it! We start the weekend with our #paccolorchallenge with @colorplan_papers. We challenged 20 artists from 10 countries to create a piece of paper art from a single colour. The only restriction was that their piece of art had to fit within a 20 x 20 x 20cm area.​ This is Cristian Marianciuc @icarus.mid.air submission made from the beautiful New Blue. Cristian made one of his signature cranes "the piece for this challenge is considerably larger than my preferred size. However, I thoroughly enjoyed it! We continue our #paccolorchallenge with the vibrant Tabriz blue by @colorplan_papers with a piece by the talented @rosaiyoo . Rosa was very much inspired by her paper colour.⠀ “As you know, Tabriz is the name of the northwestern province of Iran. I don't know if the name of the paper colour came from the place name or not, but I wanted to make something of a Persian style. It's a kind of a Persian style container made of paper.
