Viktoriia Dobrovolska is an illustrator and graphic designer “who can make your dreams and ideas visible”. According to her Instagram bio, she creates “wacky, cute, and futuristic soviet things made in USSR”. From spinning top and plastic egg carrier to tilting toys and condensed milk, the artist with her hand-drawn illustrations brings you back to the past.
“This collection was carefully curated (and mostly hand-drawn) by a Lithuanian-Ukrainian couple to give you the best idea of the soviet design and lifestyle. We’ve made this to show many wacky, interesting (and often forgotten) things made in the USSR,” Dobrovolska shared on Bored Panda and added that her creations aren’t an attempt to glorify or whitewash the soviet past.
She also says that each of her works requires a few hours to complete, so “it’s a rather long manual process. You can find her creations on her Instagram account called soviet.things.
