When Life Gives You Lemons: Agoraphobic Woman Found a Way to Travel the World

(By @streetview.portraits)

Having a phobia is never easy. Not only you have to fight your inner demons, but people around you will not always understand that your fears are as real as theirs are not. Jacqui Kenny from New Zealand knows this very well. She now lives in London, but that doesn’t mean she enjoys traveling. In fact, Jacqui suffers from agoraphobia, meaning she can’t simply pack her bags and go out wherever she wants, no matter how much she wants it.

Despite her disorder, Jacqui has found a way to explore the world – she’s doing it through Google Maps. Thanks to the app, she has been able to ‘visit’ Mongolia, Chile, Senegal, and many other far away countries without leaving her apartment.

This creative lady finds beautiful scenes, takes screenshots and edits them before putting them on her Instagram profile. This has got her over 80K followers already! We’re not surprised, and when you see the pictures you won’t be either.

“The more I traveled, the more I found scenes that appeared to be plucked from a strange and expansive parallel universe,” Jacqui wrote. “I encountered remote towns and dusty landscapes, vibrant architectural gems, and anonymous people, all frozen in time.”
