Will You Rock This Jewelry to the Beach?

Jewelry brand WALD takes the term “beachwear” quite literally. Inspired by ’90s nostalgia and trips to the beach, the Berlin-based brand incorporates into its pieces anything from green shells and corals to jasper stones, reinterpreting the shell trend in an altogether progressive direction.

Stylist Dana Roski and Model Joyce Binneboese originally started WALD as a concept boutique in Mitte, Berlin around 2012. After taking a creative break, they decided to open WALD Boutique as an online store stocking a selection of curated lifestyle brands. This allowed them to travel the world and be inspired to launch their own brand – WALD Berlin.

In January 2018, they launched their first jewelry collection which embodied the liberation of holidays and childhood memories using shell motifs. What began as a small online brand quickly spiraled into a viral sensation. Since their launch in 2018, they have been featured in a number of top tier publications like Vogue, Marie Claire, and Elle.

The best part? All of their jewelry is handmade in Germany by a collective of women who would otherwise be unemployed. The environment is also extremely important to WALD, and they make sure that the shells and corals they use are not on the protected species list. They work closely alongside German biologists who supply the shells and coral to ensure this is enforced.
