Art Student Decorates Tram Stop With Flowers

Dominika Cebula decided she would add a pinch of color to her very grey city of Lodz, Poland. By gathering flowers and other plants, she turned an ordinary tram stop into a beautiful flower museum.

“I felt inspired by a sentimental meaning of giving flowers to someone, meaning of flowers in our culture and their presence at all the important moments in our lives,” Cebula told Bored Panda. “Also, I feel modern cities lack nature. I’d like to introduce more colors and flowers because people feel more calm around nature.”

The project, which she named Nostalgia, took about a year to realize; from gathering the plants to dealing with the city officials. The flowers are preserved with epoxy resin, so people could enjoy them longer.

“The hardest thing about it was official reconciliations with offices,” she added. “Also, I didn’t have a lot of experience with resin earlier. Drying flowers took a lot of time”.
