The creator of these adorable illustrations about animals, Brooke Barker, says it takes plenty of research to find new sad animal facts to illustrate. She goes to the library to browse the latest scientific research and relevant magazines.
“Some animals are a little easier for me to draw, especially cats and raccoons, and some are a little trickier, sloths, anteaters, anything I haven’t seen a lot,” Brooke says. For unfamiliar animals, she looks at many different pictures and tries drawing them in several ways before committing to a certain style.
