Architectural company NUDES recently presented an intriguing new project that looks like ever booklover’s dream. They created an amazing bookcase, titled “Bookworm Pavilion,” which is 120 feet long and 40 feet wide, and is designated for open air.
The bookcase, which is intended to be mobile, is imagined as a tunnel filled with bookshelves and compartments. These shelves and compartments have a dual purpose, serving as both places to store books and a place where people can sit while reading their book.
“Bookworm Pavilion” is currently installed in Mumbai, but the company intends to use it as a traveling library and move it through regions of Africa and Asia where the population is less literate or don’t have access to books.
