Nguyen drew the inspiration for this project from the Disneyland park near Los Angeles. That specific Disneyland in Anaheim, California was built directly under Walt Disney himself. Also, these characters are so iconic there’s not a person in this world whose childhood wasn’t affected by them. Nguyen’s creations are a tribute to the heroes of our childhoods.

He experiments by putting them into unexpected surroundings, making Disney’s princesses look like vice-indulging hipsters. He mastered the skill of making regular things awkward, slightly unpleasant and bizarre.

Sometimes the characters are over-sexualized and sometimes he just makes them look ugly or engages them in unusual activities (for them!) such as using a smartphone or social media. The illustrations are somewhere between creepy and hilarious.

The series with Disney princesses is just one of many strange works created by Nguyen. You can find a collection of his products on Instagram.
