French Street Artist Paints Amazingly Realistic Murals

Street art is visual art made in public locations. Sometimes it’s called vandalism, sometimes it gives soul and color to our concrete jungles. Artists like Zabou make our lives on the streets much nicer and more colorful – just like art is supposed to!  

Zabou is a French artist currently living in London. So far, she has painted 181 murals in 17 countries, using 2097 spray cans! Her mission is to travel and paint giant portraits that will make the world a nicer place to be.  

Most often, she spray-paints large-scale portraits. The portraits are emphasized by always being in black and white technique, while the background is colorful and playful. She explores various themes through her artworks and draws her inspiration from history and the surroundings where she paints. Most common motifs in her work are humans, art, icons, music, nature, love, and empowerment.  

She emphasizes the importance of public art according to her, street art and graffiti enable people living in different communities, but on the same geographic location to connect. It changes cities in a way of giving them life and creating social dialogue, inspiration or revolt.
