People love to dress their pets in all sorts of cute clothes. However, an artist known as YagyouNEKO took this one step further by deciding to create an entire series of anime-inspired costumes for his cats.
YagyouNEKO shares his creations on X (former Twitter) profile that already amassed a significant following. The posts mainly feature his cats posing in all sorts of cool outfits taken from Demon Slayer and Spy × Family but also Studio Ghibli movies and popular video games like Genshin Impact.
This talented artist and costume creator resides in Tokushima Prefecture on Japan’s Shikoku Island, where an abundance of cosplay and anime conventions take place throughout the year. Wanting to add a unique component to these events and attract more visitors, YagyouNEKO decided to turn to his cats for help and have them parade in detailed costumes he made by hand.
As YagyouNEKO predicted, the cosplaying cats were an absolute hit and talk of the town. He also enjoyed the experience so much that he turned it into an ongoing project.
While the creation of a single costume can be painstaking work that takes months to complete, the final result and rave reviews YagyouNEKO receives from convention visitors and internet users probably make it all worthwhile. Check out more of his works below.
