Jake is an adorable 2-year-old Golden Retriever, who had both of his eyes removed 15-months-ago due to a severe eye infection. Despite the fact that he lost his vision when he was only a puppy, Jake never lacked love or attention.
Thanks to his owners, Kim and Joe and his younger roommate, also a Golden Retriever called Addie, Jack leads a happy life. Addie proved herself to be the best friend, as she was a big help after Jake’s surgery. She was the one who guided him and helped him climb the stairs all the time.
“Jake follows Addie’s sound and smell. After Jake’s surgery, Addie wore a little bell on her collar for a while until he got used to tracking her on his own,” their owner Kim told Bored Panda.
Even though Jake is healthy now and has adapted to his new life, Addie is always by his side to keep him safe.
“He still bumps into things now and then, but he also navigates the house and our neighborhood walks with surprising ease. And thankfully, his playful nature has returned!”
