Who needs canvas when you have bananas, right? Well, this was the thought process Rotterdam-based artist Stephan Brusche had when he started creating his “banana art.”
Brusche turns bananas into works of arts by drawing on them and/or carving them into various shapes. He also regularly creates funny scenes in which this tasty fruit has the lead role and posts it on his Instagram profile.
Everything started when Brusche wanted to post something interesting on his Instagram. He saw a banana on his desk and drew a happy face on it. After receiving positive feedback from his followers, he continued posting this “banana art” and exploring new ways to create engaging artwork.
“After that I tried to come up with new ideas for drawings while using the shape of the banana in all kinds of clever ways.” – said the artist in one of his interviews. “Trying to keep pushing myself I eventually started to carve in the banana peel as well.”
