19-year-old YouTuber from London, Byron Denton, decided to conduct a social experiment on Instagram by creating a profile where he posted fake photos of himself that portray him as a rich guy with an extravagant lifestyle.
“I saw a lot of people faking holidays and stuff, but I thought it would be cool to take a different approach,” Denton said. “I’d always wondered if the reason people are so obsessed with celebrities was due to the fact they can afford to live a life not everyone can.”
Though he’s not the first one to do this, he didn’t expect to get over 70,000 followers within a short time period. He’s dropping hints that it’s all fake on nearly every photo he posts but people still follow him. See below why.
