Photographer Shoots Same People Years Apart As They Go To Work

Whether you love or hate the classic 9-5 work style, the majority of people around the world has been following it for years and won’t stop anytime soon. Danish photographer Peter Funch did this long-term project in which he took photos of people going to work years ago, and then again more recently.

The catalog of Funch’s photos is available as a book titled 42nd and Vanderbilt. It features images taken between 2007 and 2016 in the mornings around 8:30 to 9:30 AM. Initially, he didn’t plan to have the same people appear again after several years, but that happened multiple times. “You could hardly believe it, that you’d find the same people having the same ritual over 10 years,” Funch said. “It’s such a New York thing, the idea that people just do the same thing over and over again.”

We’ve collected some of the best photos from Funch’s series found on his Instagram profile. Scroll down to see them.
