In 2010, Youjun was challenged by a friend to draw a cartoon every day and post it on Weibo, a popular social media site in China. This gave him a lot of exposure and many people wanted to see more of his quirky cartoons that cover the daily oddities of life.
Youjun is also a critic of censorship and he uses his art to draw awareness to American and Chinese politics. He has depicted the obsession with social media and technology in his illustrations.
